Fete Shed

We have had a very enthusiastic response to donations for the Dad’s stall this year, which has resulted in the Fete shed now being full for these items.  Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

What we will now do is invite parents to drop off their donations directly to the stall on the Thursday/Friday afternoon just before the Fete, which avoids double handling by the school maintenance team.   Also it will allow David Fletcher the opportunity to also assess whether they’re suitable for sale (unfortunately there have been a few items donated which were not appropriate). We will be able to continue to accept donations of clothes, DVDs/Videos and books as these take up much less space.

• Current trends in child and adolescent internet usage, and the hot technologies every child wants

• Information every Parent needs to know about Social Networking

• Simple strategies to keep your kids safe online

• Why parents are the frontline defenders when it comes to CyberSafety

Open to all adults.  $10 per Student (12 years and older), $20 per Adult, $30 per Couple, $40 per Family ( 2 Adults & 2 Students).  All proceeds to the Huntingtower Aquatics Sports & Fitness Centre. Reserve your tickets today. Book and pay securely online at http://events.huntingtower.vic.edu.au/ or call the office on (03) 9807 8888.

Cadbury Chocolate Drive

Just a reminder that all funds from the Chocolate Drive are now overdue.  If you haven’t yet paid, can you please provide the Office with either a cheque (payable to ‘Huntingtower PTA’) or cash ($60 per box).  We would very much prefer to collect the proceeds this way so we can ensure we have enough money to pay Cadbury.  Putting the proceeds through on the school account is a last resort only and is very difficult to administer so we’d really appreciate your support.

Fete Donations

Thank you for all the terrific donations that have already come in for the Fete.  If you have any spare books, clothes, dvds or general bric-a-brac for the Dad’s stall, we’d be very grateful if you could please leave it up at the green sheds near the trainline (2nd door from the left).

We kindly requesting that every family please donate some small goods or services for the Silent Auction which will be part of our Fete in November this year. Masterchef Asian Cooking Class

A big thank you to Kamal Unvala who held such a wonderful evening of cooking on June 15.  It was so well organised which enabled the evening to flow smoothly and for all of the participants to just enjoy the food and the company.  There was such a warm, friendly atmosphere in the room and some friendly competition as to who turned out the best presented dishes!

We’re very grateful to Mr. Vamsi Krishna Budige at Amba Bazaar who donated spices for the event and Mr Mark Milledge, Manager Richies IGA in Mt Waverley who donated poultry, greens, dairy, potatoes and onions.

Fete Donations

To all those parents who have been sorting out clothes, books, DVDs, toys and trash and treasure items over – you can now get those annoying boxes out of your house!  Please drop off any donations in labelled boxes or bags (eg:  “Book stall”) to the new green sheds up near the railway line.  If you pop them outside the 2nd door from the left, the maintenance team will store them safely for you.

If you think any of these items may have a reasonable sales value, one option could be auctioning them on eBay on behalf of the school, with your permission of course!  We haven’t tried this before but it may have potential.  Please contact catherine.jenkins@iinet.net.au if you would like to pursue this option.
