Parents & Friends

The P&F Welcome Sausage Sizzle and Picnic held last Friday evening, 2 March was a roaring success! We enjoyed perfect weather and the beautiful surrounds of the garden between the MYC and VCE buildings. And what a turnout! Over 200 HT students, family members and friends turned out to enjoy a free sausage sizzle and entertainment. Those who attended were entertained by an exceptionally talented group of students (and Principal!) who provided wonderful music and singing. The BBQ was capably manned by some of our amazing P&F members along with some committed staff, including Junior School head Dot Grieveson and Business Manager Rob Kitchingman.

The P&F extends its sincere thanks to all who made the evening such a success – P&F members who helped with setting up, serving and packing up; HT staff who arranged the music program (Adam Somes); sound system (Tony Hill); the families who brought along and contributed some extra special treats and the many and varied student performers. A special thanks to Mr Bowen, who provided a most-entertaining solo performance and of course, to all the HT families who came along and made the event such a big occasion. The feeling of community is alive and well at Huntingtower!

It's exciting that we are bringing back the HT Fete this year!

In order to host such a fabulous event, not only for our school but also for our community, we still need your wonderful support.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic parents to be part of our P&F Fete Sub-Committee. If you are interested please send an email to our Fete Coordinator, Joe Megas, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The next Fete meeting will be held on Thursday, 15 March at 7pm in the Senior School Library.

Looking forward to seeing parents at the meeting.

Have you ever thought about the canteen food that is served to our HT students? Have you wondered what your child/children get up to at lunchtime? Want to be involved with the school community and meet new people? Can you spare an hour a week, fortnight, month, term, semester or year? Mary Hunt, our wonderful Canteen Manager, would love to hear from you. Any assistance as a once off, occasionally or ongoing would be very much appreciated.

For any questions or further information, please contact Mary directly via the School Office (9807 8888) or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Communication via the Parents and Friends Association generally occurs via our wonderful Class Representatives. Their role is vital in assisting us to get our information across to the school community; whether it's to support families in need, upcoming events, general school information involving the P&F, community events, fete information and much more.

We are very appreciative of the parents who have volunteered for these important positions (most vacancies were filled last year) except for one - our elusive Year 9 Class Rep!

Are you a Year 9 parent? Do you know of a Year 9 parent who would make a great Class Rep? Any parent who may be interested or has any questions regarding this position, please email Poppy Gounaris (P&F Secretary) atThis email address is being protected from spambots.
