Hearty congratulations to the very talented Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students who presented a wonderful solo concert recently. Each item was thoroughly prepared and presented and a very high standard was reached by every performer. We are extremely grateful to all our musicians in the school for working so hard and sharing their amazing talents with us.

Solo concerts for Year 7 and Year Prep, 1, 2 musicians will be held during Term 4. There will also be a series of solo concerts during the holidays for students preparing for VCE solo performances and for AMEB exams.

Tuesday 16 October 6.30pm – Year 7 Solo Concert

Thursday 15 November 6pm – Little Symphony Solo Concert (Years Prep, 1 and 2)

HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS TO:

  • The group of musicians who performed superbly at the Highway Gallery before the gallery very sadly closes in the near future. Laura Armstrong (Year 9), Isambard Knox-Johnson (Year 9), Jeremy Dong (Year 8) and Spencer Au (Year 7) enjoyed the privilege of playing at the final major event of the gallery which has been an icon of the arts in Mt. Waverley for many years.
  • The VCE musicians who performed beautifully to a very appreciate audience at the Rylands Retirement Village. We are extremely grateful to Mrs Joan Earle, a revered musician, mother of Mrs Marion Power and a long time supporter of music at Huntingtower who arranged this wonderful occasion and we are also grateful to our talented musicians Ann Xia, Jay Sun, George Tyurin, Charmaine Leung and Ven Lee Teo for their wonderful performances.
  • Ethan Zhang (Year 5) was recently awarded 1st prize in the Piano Solo ages 10 and 11 at the Eisteddfod-By-The Bay – a wonderful achievement Ethan!
