SENIOR HOUSE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2018

YEARS 7-12

SOLO AND INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE CONCERTS

There have been 7 wonderful concerts featuring nearly 150 magnificent solo performances on many different instruments and voice. A special mention must be given to the 30 Year 7 students who all performed so beautifully after having been in the Senior School for only 3 weeks! The House members and especially the Year 12 House Leaders thoroughly supported their soloists and ensembles with a colourful array of decorations, enthusiastic cheers for their young performers and by providing a delightful colour co-ordinated supper! The Instrumental Ensembles are an amazing part of the House Music Festival with each new member working individually and then as a team to create a perfect blend of voices and musical style.

FINAL CONCERT (Orchestras and Choirs)

Tuesday 13 March 7.30pm

Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University

The very exciting final evening of the House Music Festival on Tuesday 13 March at 7.30pm will be held at ROBERT BLACKWOOD HALL at Monash University. This is a magnificent auditorium with excellent acoustics for the choirs and orchestras and a huge stage for Light Entertainment. It is also a very large hall so we do invite all parents, families, old students and friends to come and enjoy this spectacular event! There will be a comfortable seat for everyone and there is no charge. Junior School children will love the excitement of the evening and it will not be a long night. Every student in Years 7 to 12 will perform in his/her House Choir and over 60% of the students perform in the House Orchestras. It is a COMPULSORY event for all Senior students.

Please invite all your friends and notify any old students whom you may not know of the venue. This would be much appreciated.

DRESS FOR THE HOUSE MUSIC FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES

Please note carefully as you may need to purchase an item of clothing from the Huntingtower Uniform Shop before the evening.

HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS TO…

The 150 Senior students who auditioned and then performed solos at the House Music Festival. Every performance was superb and appreciated by an enthusiastic audience.

Jay Sun, George Tyurin, Abby Poon, Isambard Knox-Johnson and Jeremy Dong who all performed beautifully for 120 members of the Waverley Probus Club at a recent concert in the Waverley Community Centre. The solo and ensemble items were enjoyed immensely by the large audience.

ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED, HAVING A 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PARTY OR ORGANISING A BUSINESS DINNER?

Huntingtower musicians would be very willing to provide a small (or large) ensemble to play beautiful music in a wide variety of styles at any occasion. They have a very comprehensive "gig" folder that includes many special requests. A small fee would be charged as fundraising for the Huntingtower Instrumental Fund.
