The evening of Tuesday, February 26 was the Huntingtower P&F's first meeting for 2019 as well as the AGM.
We were really pleased that the Principal, Mr Bowen, and Head of Junior School, Dr McDonald, were able to attend. Our main item of business was deciding how to attribute the considerable amount of money raised at the 2018 Huntingtower fete. The money raised was remarkable, and the outcome of an incredible year-long effort by the P&F fete committee, led by the wonderful Joe Megas.
After some discussion and ideas suggested by Mr Bowen and Dr McDonald, we decided to consolidate the fete funds and other fundraising from 2018 and allocate as follows:
HT PAC Honour Board(s)$15,000
STEM Centre $10,000
Junior School projects$10,000
We also recognised Mary Hunt's contribution to student welfare by donating a new vegetable slicer with replacement blades to the HT Canteen, to the value of $1,100.
Our meeting hosted elections for the forthcoming year and we welcomed many returning P&F committee members and, happily, several new parents who have joined the P&F team.Thank you to all new and continuing members for your commitment!
The key officeholders, Stuart Canning (President), Poppy Gounaris (Secretary) and Yong Zhang (Treasurer), were all re-elected in their 2018 capacities unopposed.
The Welcome Picnic has set the scene for another cohesive and productive year for the P&F.We look forward to being part of the life of the school throughout 2019 and invite all interested parents to attend our next P&F meeting in the Senior School Library at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 19.
